Umejero

Umejero Village (also written Umajero) originates from an area called Batu Mecepak/Mecongkak, formed when Ki Jambe (descendant of Belog Bengkung) discovered a spring from a rock and cleared agricultural land (uma) dedicated as seasonal offering grain for the customary leader. From the words "uma" (field) and "jero" (inner/belonging to the ruler's residence) comes the name Umejero. Umejero has a unique cultural tradition in the form of patus — a group of male chefs traditionally responsible for cooking during ceremonies and communal activities across all of Catur Desa. This tradition gives Umejero a distinctive identity that sets it apart from the other three villages. Administratively, Desa Adat Umejero is located in Busungbiu District, Buleleng Regency — the only village of the four in a different district from the other three.
