Munduk
Munduk Village is one of four villages in Catur Desa Adat Dalem Tamblingan, originating from an early settlement called Tengah-mel built after the Tamblingan community left Alas Mertajati. Munduk is known as a centre for natural tourism featuring waterfalls, arabica coffee plantations, and stunning mountain panoramas. The village is home to the Tripittaka performing arts group, which uses distinctive bamboo instruments as a marker of local cultural identity. Founded by I Made Terip in 1997, Tripittaka has 35 members of all ages and continues to preserve traditional bamboo music without bronze instruments. Munduk is also renowned for producing Tamblingan arabica coffee sought after beyond Bali. The Indian author Rabindranath Tagore is said to have once stayed at a guesthouse in Munduk — a historical fact adding a cultural dimension to the village.
