Jaringan Ekowisata Desa (JED): Introducing Catur Desa to the World Sustainably

Since 2021, Jaringan Ekowisata Desa (JED) has served as a bridge connecting Catur Desa Adat Dalem Tamblingan with the outside world. Through educational eco-tourism packages, JED invites visitors to learn directly about the indigenous community's struggle to protect Alas Mertajati. "The package we offer is not mass tourism. We tell the story from A to Z — what happens here, how local people maintain their local wisdom," explained Diandra Orissa, a member of Baga Raksa Alas Mertajati (Brasti). This eco-tourism also serves as a vehicle to voice the community's ongoing struggle for formal recognition of Alas Mertajati as customary forest, to a broader audience.
